Strake Jesuit Competition Gym
"Light Up the NIght" — a neon-themed event
Schedule of Events:
- 8pm: doors open for check-in
- 9pm — 10pm: lock-in period — please arrive before 9pm and plan to leave after 10pm
- 11pm: last dance
Ticket Information:
- Jesuit students are encouraged to invite a guest, though not required. His guest may only be a young lady of similar age to her host. Her name is requested during the ticket purchase process, so please purchase tickets only after his guest is arranged. (Guest names can be changed in extraordinary situations by contacting Mrs. Doiron.)
- Tickets will cost $40 for the Jesuit student, and $40 additional for a guest, if he so chooses.
- Tickets include light snacks and bottled water. Homecoming activities include dancing, casino-style games, a fun photo booth, and other activities in the works from House Council leadership. Commemorative dance tee-shirts are in design now, and will be made available at a later date, for a modest additional cost.
- Jesuit students receiving financial aid, please contact Mr. Montroy for pricing information and instructions.
Alcohol Preparation:
- All Jesuit students attending Homecoming must complete an alcohol awareness program before attending. To access the course, visit www.everfi.com/student and enter the registration code fe3219cf. There is no cost. You do not need to print a certificate: we are able to view your certificate online when you register with your student email address. Students who completed an alcohol education course for a prior Jesuit dance do not need to repeat the course. Be advised that randomized testing for alcohol and drug use is conducted at Homecoming each year.
Dress Code
- Students, it is very important to communicate the dress code to your guest in advance and beginning ASAP. We all want to avoid awkwardness on the night of Homecoming, and forward notice is key.
- For all guests, the spirit of "good taste, modest, and appropriate" should prevail. Students who do not abide by this standard will not be allowed to enter the dance.
- Men: Semi-formal attire that is in good taste, modest, and appropriate. Suit or sport coat with dress slacks, dress shirt, tie, dress shoes and socks are required. No head coverings.
- Women: Semi-formal attire that is in good taste, modest, and appropriate such as a semi-formal cocktail dress, jumpsuit, or slacks. Appropriate dress length includes full length, tea length (below the knee and above the calf), or dresses that fall above the knee but are longer than mid-thigh when standing. Extremely short, micro-mini dresses, excessively revealing, or excessively tight dresses are not allowed. No backless, bare midriff, or low-cut dresses with plunging necklines. Strapless dresses should fit securely. Appropriate footwear safe and suitable for dancing is required. Flip-flops, slides, and bare feet are not permitted.
- Students might like to know that our decor will include UV blacklighting, so you may choose to take flourescence into account while planning your attire. Still, all attire must follow the guidelines above.
Mums and Floral Garters
- There are many customary practices that surround Homecoming, like the gifting of mums and floral garters. None of these are required by Strake Jesuit, and we encourage modesty and simplicity in your Homecoming preparations and plans. Some helpful information follows here.
- House Council offers an option called Mums for Others, while supplies last. These purchases benefit local charities. Students will receive a premium mum, which includes a unique "For Others" identifier to recognize the generous spirit that motivated their participation. See below for order information. Students may contact House Captain Peter Hablinski '26 for further details or questions.
