SJ Golf Posts Respectable Scores

First, in Deer Park’s two-day tournament at Battleground on Friday and Saturday, our Varsity team of Aaron Girggs, Fritz Hirsekorn, Felipe Hinojsa, Alexander Pereira, and Davis Neighbors shot 333-330 finishing in the middle of the pack. Hirsekorn’s individual score of 162 (80-82) paced the Crusaders, while Griggs’s 77 on Day 2 was best on our team. On Wednesday, we sent two JV teams to compete in Stratford’s invitational at Jersey Meadow. Our sophomore team of Collin Burt, Sutton Teltschik, Eshaan Vakil, Andy Atherton, and Will Atherton shot 331 to place 6th in the massive 24-team field, led by Andy’s 80 and Will’s 81. Our freshmen team was not far behind, with Jack Van Valen, Chase Parker, Garner Laguarta, Cooper Blood, and Caleb McGinnis shooting 339 to place 11th. Blood’s 79 was 16th best out of 131 total golfers.
