Each year, Strake Jesuit honors the reunion class that continues to fully embrace their role as Men for Others. This tradition challenges and encourages reunion class alumni to reconnect and engage with their alma mater. The honor, known as the Brother Casey Ferlita Memorial Class of the Year, is bestowed upon the class that has the highest participation in reunion weekend measured by attendance at reunion, participation in the Crusader Fund, and overall giving to Strake Jesuit. The winner has their class year engraved on the Casey Cup trophy that is displayed proudly for all to see.
This year’s winning class represents one of the most generous classes in the history of Strake Jesuit. They give back by volunteering their time at career day and spring fling, and in any way they are called upon. They support the auction, the Crusader Fund, and have represented their class on the Board of Directors. They finished the year by raising almost $100,000 for their alma mater.
We are very proud to award the Brother Casey Ferlita Memorial Class of the Year to the Class of 1974. Presenting the Casey Cup is Director of Advancement Colin Matheny. Accepting the Casey Cup on behalf of the class of 1974 is Chuck Duff ’74, joined by his grandkids, some of whom we hope are future Crusaders. Congratulations, Class of 1974!
