Crusader of the Year Awards 2023

Every year, four students are presented with the Crusader of the Year Award. This annual award recognizes one exemplary student from each grade level who has demonstrated the characteristics of a Man for Others. This year’s recipients are John Hebert ’26, Henry Omanga ’25, Lance Alonte ’24, and John Greeley ’23.

John Hebert ’26 is a natural leader that other students gravitate toward. On top of being a straight-A student, he excels on the football field and track & field. He is kind, genuine, and respectful, and his sense of humor brings a smile to everyone he encounters.

Henry Omanga ’25 is a quiet leader who demonstrates exemplary character, an enviable work ethic, and excellence in the classroom. He has a sharp mind and a gift for clear, insightful communication. Henry is a “beacon to others” because of his persistence, positive demeanor, and willingness to lead by example.

Lance Alonte ’24 is a naturally quiet self-learner, who seems to have wisdom beyond his years. Always focused and faithful, he is a trustworthy and loyal friend who students admire and appreciate. He is a member of the Frassati Society, the Creative Writing Club, the Martial Arts team, and the Ciszek Leadership Program, and is an altar server at Mass. An exemplary member of his class, he truly embodies what it means to be a Man for Others

John Greeley ’23 is known for his ever-present smile and warm, generous nature. He is thoughtful and caring in his words and actions, and his treatment of others serves as a witness to his faith-filled life. Never putting his interests before others, his selflessness made him an inspiring leader within his class.
